Enable Copilot Control Feature to a Canvas Apps

Introduction

The Copilot control is a next-generation AI assistant that makers can add to their canvas apps for end-users. This is an AI-powered experience for app users to get insights about the data in their apps through conversation in natural language. Makers can add this control to any canvas app and choose what data it can answer questions about.

Enable Copilot for your environment

In order for end users to use the Copilot chat experience in a canvas app, an admin must first turn on the feature, Allowing users to analyze data using an AI-powered chat experience in canvas and model-driven apps (preview).

Navigate to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com.

Select the Respective Environment where you want to Enable Copilot.

Click Settings on TOP --> Select Product --> Select Feature.

You will see an Option Called COPILOT. Enable the Option and click on save.

When the feature setting is turned on, a maker can then enable Copilot component from the app settings in Power Apps Studio and then add the Copilot control to the app, allowing end users to use the AI-powered chat experience.

Enable the Copilot component for a canvas app

Now go to https://make.powerapps.com

Click Apps on the Left Side

Select New app -> Start with a page design ->Select Blank Canvas App.

Once the App Opens --> Click Settings from the top, Click Upcoming Features, and Turn On Copilot components.

Once Done, Click INSERT, and You will See the Copilot Option Enabled.

After clicking on Copilot (Preview), the window will appear.

When I click on the 'Add a button,' it automatically gets added to the screen.

Copilot helps you to build the Canvas App faster and with ease. Even with minimum technical knowledge, one can build the app correctly.
