We live in the age of multi-tasking. Our computers and even phones are capable of multi-tasking. A big thanks to social media apps for making our lives addicted to the phones and constantly not focusing on one thing :)

Unfortunately, the human brain is not wired to multi-task, unless you're Julius Caesar. The human brain is a single-processor machine. Ok, may be a dual-core with a left brain and right brain load balancing and dividing the tasks they perform.

Studies suggest that Humans are not good at multitasking. Recommendations are Don't Multitask: Your Brain Will Thank You.

Dividing your attention across multiple activities is taxing on the brain and can often come at the expense of real productivity, said Arthur Markman, a professor in the department of psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.
If you leave one tasks incomplete, come back to that task again will take you minutes to focus back on it.
Studies also suggest that Multitasking is bad for Productivity.

Here is a story from the Hindu epic, Mahabharata. When testing princes for his education, guru Dhrona asked them to aim at the eye of a wooden bird placed on a tree. Before aiming, the guru asked every prince what they saw. One by one, all of them but Arjuna replied, a tree, blue sky, leaves and so on. Only prince Arjuna said, he saw only the eye of the bird and nothing else. Arjuna became the greatest archer that ever lived.

If you want to be good at something, you must focus on that with the precision of a LASER. It not only applies to work but also in your real life.

Focus is the key to success.

You must focus on what you want in your life and go after that 110%. There will be times in life, when you will have distractions and obstacles but you must overcome them while maintaining your focus on your goal.

Both Bill Gates and Warren Buffett agrees that focus is the most important factor to success.
It is better to have one thing completed than many incomplete.
Even Steve Jobs agrees. When Jobs came back to run Apple, he stopped hundreds of products and focused on few products only.
