Turn Off Automatic Updates on Windows 11 using the Registry

  • Click on Start.
  • Search regedit and click to launch Registry Editor.
  • Copy and follow the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
  • Now, right-click on the Windows folder, click on New and select the key option.

  • Name the key as WindowsUpdate and hit Enter.
  • Right-click on the recently created key with the name of WindowsUpdate, choose New and click on the Key option.

  • Now, name the key as AU and hit enter button.
  • Here, right-click on the AU key, choose New, and click on DWORD (32 bit) Value option.
  • Name the new key as NoAutoUpdate and hit Enter button.
  • Now, double-click on the DWORD (32-bit) Value key and change its value from 0 to 1.

  • Finally, click on the OK button and restart your computer to make the changes.
