To modify the design of a report, you use the the Crystal Report Designer. To open the designer for a report, double-click on the report file in the Solution Explorer.
The Crystal Report Designer includes a Field Explorer that lists the field that are available to the report; a Report Designer that you can use to work with the layout of a report; and toolbars that provide access to the ,most useful functions. Each report consists of five or more sections. The details section contains the data from each row in the data source, the report header and footer sections appear at the beginning and end of the report, and the page header and footer sections appear at the top and bottom of each page. Additional sections are included for each group you define.
To change the format of a report object, select it and use the toolbar buttons or right-click on it and select Format to display the Format Editor dialog box. You can also position and size an object using the mouse, and you can delete it by pressing the Delete key. To change the other aspects of a report, use the shortcut menu that's displayed when you right-click in the Report Designer.
