Check in a file in SharePoint 2010 document library using web service in powershell

Steps Involved:

Open SharePoint 2010 Management Shell by going to Start | All Programs | SharePoint | Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products | SharePoint 2010 Management Shell (Run as Administrator).
Run the following script.

Powershell script:

 
## Input Parameters required to check in a file in SharePoint 2010 documnet library
$uri="http://serverName:10736/sites/ECT/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx" 
## File Url that has to be checked in
[string] $pageUrl="http://serverName:10736/sites/ECT/Shared Documents/BIVisioDiagram.vsd"
## Check in comments
[string] $comment="File checked in using web service"
## CheckInType values 0, 1 or 2, where 0 = MinorCheckIn, 1 = MajorCheckIn, and 2 = OverwriteCheckIn
[String]$CheckinType="0"




$listWebServiceReference = New-WebServiceProxy -Uri $uri -UseDefaultCredential
$listWebServiceReference.CheckInFile($pageUrl,$comment,$CheckinType)
