Same thing happened with me at my current company but not similar with Chandradev. One of the my team leaders always demotivates me even I am working fine and I had completed all the given task within the time with good quality but she says its wrong do as I say (old manner). She does same task in 100 lines of code while I am doing it with 10 lines. When I didn't change what she asked me to change, she complaint to the Manager. The manager is also a non technical manager and does not know how to declare variable. He also told me to do as madam says. Then I replied him nicely, "Company has hired me but not to follow the old ways. If there are better ways to solve same problem, I should do that. As a matter of fact, the team leader should be asking me how to do the same thing but better. What is the purpose of hiring me? Programming is not a labor job where you work according to the Home owner? ".
Anyway, so after one month or so, the Manager calls me to come in his cabin and told me, Vithal, You need to work in java because now future is Java..?
On that question, I laughed and replied that manager (does not know full form of ASP.NET), Respected sir, this is my career and future its not a joke. I will not work on Java because I have worked in .NET since last one year and I have spent lots of time to learn and understand .NET and my future is .NET not Java. After a lot of arguments he told me no problem.
However, that did not stop my team leader to continue the same and one day both the manager and the team leader gave me feedback that my rank is the bottom based on my performance even though there are no new projects and I have done lots of work on old projects.
After few days, I have decided to quit my company and within one day, I got 4 offers with 100 %
salary hike now. Now I am joining a new company on May 7, but I can't forget that incidents that the manager does not have knowledge how to keep the client
Projects. He judged me according to the feedback of my boss without even understanding the proper reason.
My
last statement for them is, "I am not loving any company. I love my work. Because of work I hope the company gives me respect I deserve."
So my request to all
beginners as well as Professionals is, do not love any company, just love your job. If you
are not wrong, always love your work because of this you can secure your
future so other companies can easily see the potential and hire you because of your quality
of work and skill.
Another reason to love your work is that most of the small as well as big companies hiring candidates who gets a probation period of 6,9 or 12 months (by considering Project competition period) and after specific time (after completion of project but candidate still on probation period) they gives wrong feedback on employee that your performance is not good even he or she worked till completion of project because they can not be directly told that we have not project.
So my all dear friends don't focus on these things. Nothing is new here. Always keep yourself prepared for the future challenges by always keep in touch and learning new and cutting-edge technologies.

Nice discussion here is my solution :)
Neha SharmaPosted May 7, 2013, 2:13 AM
I must say ,think from both side but most of the time some managers never think from our side.so i am sharing my solution here : These people want a reply in their own language.Dont quit quickly..just wait for the moment jab comapny ko aapki bahut jaroorat ho or koi aesa kaam ho jise keval aap hi kar sakte ho tab aap sari khunnas nikal lijiye us time pe apna resignation unhe de kar.qki negative feedback to vo vese hi aapko de rahe hain .Krara jvaab dena jaroori hota hai taaki same cheej kisi or ke sath karne se pehle vo hjaar bar sochen.Unhe ye aehsaas dilana jaroori hota hai ki they are not paying you for nothing, they are paying you for the talent you have.but be carefull us time pe aapko trah trah ke laalach se rokne ki koishis karnege but us time keval or keval ye sochna ki "tumhe is hell se nikalna hai".

Thank You Mahesh Chand for the good words & your ideas. I appreciate people like you who climbed the difficult steps in ladder are ready to come back & improvise it for future comers.

Well said Jean. You will feel more "Gundaraj" when you work with recruiters. I have worked many years with recruiters and they are "Lootere". They don't give you any benefits but take a big chunk of your wages. That said, one day we will have this Company and Recruiters Rating system on this site so we can BLACK LIST them and make new guys aware to avoid them.
Jean PaulPosted May 6, 2013, 8:50 AM
It was a solid discussion! I appreciate comments from Mahesh Chand, Vithal on the issue. I will put my thoughts too..First of all we need to learn the "Legal Aspects of Business" at least for a day. We can use forums & good advocates on the matter of notice period. There are improper practices like companies increasing notice period after joining, through a mail.. For example while you join the notice period will be 1 month, once industry is in boom the company will increase it to 3 months (on recession they reduce to 2 weeks):). This is to reduce the number of opportunities for the employee. If they cannot legally bind, they can create reference issues for sure. BUT background check & reference checks are different. Background check ensures the employee worked in particular company, he earned such salary & probably a comment on him/her. The comment is valued or not depends on attitude of new company. Reference check could be casual one over the phone. Reference checks usually happens before appointment, bg check starts after appointment. The solution i prefer is "As the new company" requires you quicker, they need to pay for the notice period, after all these all gimmics by the company. If they cannot pay, then you can pay for it.. The amount will be the ONLY BASIC PART of salary. So 1 month you serve notice period, 2 month you pay for the notice period. Most companies discourage people working after putting paper. So the 2 month money you spend, you can ask it from the new company as salary hike. For example, if you require 10 lakh salary, & you paid 1 lakh as notice period amount, ask for 11.5 lakhs as new salary (including tax). So keep a 2 month money in hand before starting job hunt! All the best.----------After thinking a while I conclude that this is Corporate Gundaraj. If the mightier helps the weaker ones, then the society will grow! Instead of finding the problems why people are leaving the wrong decision makers of companies are halting those who exit! You have to exit these companies as fast as possible & inform the problem to employees around, plus glassdoor too. Let the culprits get more problems by more employees leaving & less guys willing to enter!
Vithal WadjePosted May 6, 2013, 12:46 AM
don't worry Sandeep,it has very simple solution,In my current company their is one month notice period but I have given them 15 days of notice period instead of company because I am paying them 15 (remaining notice period) days of Money and in which company i have selected they agree to pay those money from their own account instead of my.you have lots of option...first give the notice period to company according to you and pay for remaining days ,if you have EL then its even better because your EL will get Minus from your notice period means you have current 30 EL and your notice period is 90 days then 30 days will be get deducted now 60 days are remaining give company 30 days of notice period and pay for 30 days(it will also adjusted fro PF,bonus and other if you have) and if you selected in good company with super interview then that company will pay your notice period money if you told them about it.

Vithal WadjePosted May 6, 2013, 12:24 AM
thanks Mahesh sir for a such a great words for me,really your motivation and your work always gives me great boost to my career and cant forget last 30 days of my life ,i have learned lot from that incident. Yes sir its right that we don't blame to Manager or Team leader for such a incidents because its wrong in company system. But sir who is responsible for this..? its again responsibility of team leader and Manager to provide the Personal feedback's to company that employees are not satisfied with current system ,please change some rules so we can keep our employee. but these types of Managers and team leader like my company they don't think for others they think only for their own growth ,they fear that if we talk against company rules then we not get any promotions and that's why company does not know what happens among the employees and they don't think to change the system. Sir in my current company even their is no coordination between HR and employes because HR manages Mumbai by sitting at Tamil Nadu (Chennai). I think that their is no solution for such a company ,team leader and manager
Mahesh ChandPosted May 6, 2013, 12:02 AM
This is a very good and valid point Sandeep. I think you should go to your current company and tell them you have got a new job and if you can leave early. If they don't agree, go to new company and tell them you can't leave your company b/c of the notice period but you are happy to work part-time in evenings and weekends so new company don't have to wait and current company's project won't suffer.
Sandeep Singh ShekhawatPosted May 5, 2013, 9:47 PM
Good blogging Vithal! I have a question that suppose I have 3 months notice period in my company and selected in another company with good salary but new company can't wait for 3 months of my joining so what to do? If I leave without notice period then he/she will give wrong feedback about me, If I don't leave this job then can't join new company. If I resigned first then search job, I will be stupid. If I do that first take notice period then search job,I can be unemployee if not get job in notice period duration then it will be negative for my profile and can't get good salary so what to do? Thanks
Mahesh ChandPosted May 5, 2013, 10:34 AM
Good blog Vithal. I can say you are #2 “the most passionate” person after “DJ” and good that you speak your heart. Some people will not like it but who cares. I also read @Jean’s reply. He said it right. It not people. It’s the system. See human nature is very adaptive. People usually become what system they are thrown into. Look at entire India and politics. There is so much corruption there. I am sure many of the leaders where good guys in the beginning of their career. But system changed them. And if they did not fit in the system, they were thrown out of it or failed. T. N. Sheshan can be one example of that. May be a few people succeeded but didn’t go too far. Look at Babu Murarji Desai, Chaudhari Charan Singh, and Sri Atal Bihari Bajpai? These good leaders didn’t last too long. So, I don’t blame the team leader or the manager. I blame the company system and policy. As a matter of fact, small companies don’t have a system. Managers don’t have any professional trainings. They never learned how to handle teams. There is one more thing called “Comfort Zone”. As I said earlier, the humans are very adaptive in general. Once you’re in “Comfort Zone”, you want to stay there. We love certainty. We love to calculate things. We avoid risks and uncertainties. This is how we are. This is how humans are. So If you’re “the new guy” in a company and system and trying to go out of the “Comfort Zone”, they won’t like it. This is purely behavioral mentality. There is a reason; there are not too many Einsteins or Aristotles or Gandhis. These great people did not become a part of an existing system. They themselves became a system. They thought outside of the box.

Well said Vithal.. It is similar to Narayana Murthy's quote while he was running company Infosys. "Love your job, not the company". Often in industry we work with managers, who are not fit for the position. They are not good managers as they were not good engineers.. The problem is employment problem & the subordinates have to suffer. I have seen many company owners asking the question "why did you leave your past company".. the same question we can also ask "why you quit your last employee job & started this company" - the same reason is the answer for both. I would recommend you "not to be discouraged by all these".. these all happen in the initial years of career, plus these experiences should help you in "not-entering" the same mistakes again. You can use the knowledge to judge a future company with their first interview itself. Your strategy of "new technologies" & "love your work" would be the right approach for growth. Plus, java is not the future, we make the future using.net :) http://www.jeanpaulva.com/?p=4263
