Rating Settings in SharePoint 2013 and Office 365

In the world of being social SharePoint also provides you an option to be social while you are at work.
Now you can provide ratings to the list items, your documents in your lists and libraries.

How can you do that?

  • Go to your respective libraries and lists.

  • Click on Advance Settings.

  • You will see Rating Settings; click on it, the screen below will open.

Here you have two options,

  1. Allow items in this list to be rated: This will provide an option to allow all the items to be rated in the particular list or document library.

  2. Which voting/rating experience you would like to enable for this list: This is an option where either you can provide an option whether you need users to rate through stars or likes like a Thumbs Up.

So here you will have a rating field on to your SharePoint’s list and libraries providing you a social outlook.
