Teams New Feature - Email Your Teams Conversation To Outlook

Microsoft Teams has become a point for collaboration. And with the pandemic, Teams is even more important. Starting from SharePoint, documents sharing, uploading images to other Microsoft apps, meetings, discussions come under one umbrella; i.e. teams. Businesses switch over from the traditional method of point of contact to teams. In this blog, we will discuss how we can send out a conversation that happened in teams to the recipient's email address.

Now you must be wondering about the benefit of sending the teams conversation to emails. For example, I work as an IT procurement specialist & my job is to procure IT Assets every day from an external vendor. I will be the point of contact for external vendors. Every day my job is to chat with Vendors on teams & finalize price rates, quantity, etc. for IT assets that I will procure for the company. Before procuring the assets my manager has to approve the process. Now my manager wants to have a look at the conversation which I had with the vendor. This is the case where outlook comes into the picture.

Let’s understand how we can send our conversation to outlook email,

Step 1

Open your Microsoft teams. Go to the chat window. Open the chat you want to send as email in outlook.

Step 2

Click on three dots and then click on share to outlook.

Step 3

Now the Outlook window pops up and you can see the teams conversation window attached as an image to your outlook email.

Step 4

Enter the recipient email id and change the subject line.

This way the  recipient receives an email of the conversation. It ensures clear communication between both internal and external parties with clear visibility.
