accessing application from server

however i have tried to make a web page which has a link to the .exe file of the program and i have loaded both the program as well as the web page on the intranet server. the problem what i face here is that when you access the link from a workstation the program tends to locate the database on the workstation rather than look for it on the server. plz help me out of this or plz provide me with another solution
