application level question for interview

Hi Rakesh,

If i have asked this question I would check Code first because its the origin point.

I would check line of code, proper variable declarations.

That means yes we should first check for the Code because whatever the code you wrote in SP it will get executed from the Code only.

So if the code is buggy or lengthy it takes time to execute.

actually vishal there is no code ,basically its interview type question one of my friend share with me.

question is --

if your application is getting slow then what should you check "FIRST "

1. store procedure or 2. code 3. server?

this is the question asked by interviewer to my friend

my store procedure run faster if i execute in sql management with same parameter and code is also good,after that when i pass parameter from front end then its slow

Hi,

If your application is getting slow you may have to check both Code as well as stored procedure.

We don't know what can be culprit ?

But first comes Code if its okey then we should proceed to SP.
