Did anyone tell me how to develop my understanding towards .NET so that I Can be more progressive?

If being more progressive means more strong and deep knowledge about .net, then you may want to work on some critical .net projects. You may also want to get good practical knowledge of design patters, multi-threading etc.

I would suggest to take up a good course center and then first read only the concepts and see that the concepts you study understood then after making concepts though go for coding part this will help you in long term. It take some time no issues.

I would suggest following:
1- Study core .NET concepts.
2- Practice those concepts
3- Learn over all project architecture you are working on.
4- Build a soft-skills (verbal, written and presentations)
5- seek a mentor.

Both are required to develop the skill as a developer.
When fundamentals of any topic is clear then you will do the code if you are not understand the concept then how you code for that issue.

Try to develop your basic skills before become a developer because if you are satisfied with yourself then you have to do any thing which challenges you.

Over period my experience is 1 line of code better than reading 10hrs of theory.
Make a habit of just code-code and code no matter how small and how funny it may be.
Over the peiod you will love it more.............

After that go to Ado.Net and Asp.net

Study hard and practise writing codes. This would be the best way to learn. Read from different sources. Books should be the besties now. CLR via C# to clear your concepts if you have any idea on .NET C#(if you choose)
