career path suggestions

Hi,
I am currently working on Silverlight,C#,SQL,WCF & having 3+ exp. in IT industry.

I just want to know, will it be better for me to switch my career path to ABAP developer??
What skills required to do ABAP??
What is a Scope for ABAP??

I found market is ignoring Silverlight, which is making me difficult for searching job.

Please suggest regarding ABAP, will it become a good choice for me.

I am really not sure about SAP ABAP and do not know anything about it. Sounds interesting but it looks like it is totally a new technology and you will have a lot to learn. While WPF, you don't need to learn a lot. You will still be using your current skillset - XAML, Visual Studio, C# and Blend.

I am talking about SAP-ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming).

& nice to know that I have one more option WPF.

But can you tell me about SAP-ABAP?
I heard SAP-ABAP is a mixture of JAVA & .Net , so that's why I took interest on it.
But without market research & some good suggestions for career, I can not move on it.

Yes so Silverlight does not have a future and will die eventually. So, you definitely want to get out of that path.

I guess, ABAP means WPF?

YES! WPF definitely has a good future. I see more and more projects are being developed in WPF than Windows Forms and Silverlight. You having background of Silverlight will be much easier for you to migrate to WPF.

As a matter of fact, we just hired a senior programmer with Silverlight experience to work on one of our WPF projects.
