Communication Between Two Forms

Hi everybody, But what I am trying to do is like, there are 2 forms, and if I click on the button in form1, it'll open up form2 and disable the button in form1. Then when I click on the button in form2, it will close form2, and then enable the button in form1. Could you please give me some hints about this? Thanks, Suni

Is there are reason you need to have form1 active while form2 is shown? If form2 does not need to be modeless, just use the form2.ShowDialog(this); and be done with it. If you do need it to be modeless. Previous posts give you correct answer. Just be absolutely sure you disable the button as the FIRST step in your event handler. What you are doing is very dangerous if there is even the slightest possibility you could get more than one button click in the message queue before you get a chance to handle the first one.

In Window Forms (not tested). Form1: private void mybutton1_OnClick(...) { this.Enabled=false; Form2 f=new Form2(); f.Show(); } Form2: private void mybutton2_OnClick(...) { ((Form1)this.Owner).mybutton1.Enabled=true; this.Close(); }

Create a property procedure in form one that enables the button on form1. From the form2, when the button is clicked, hide that form and call property procedure of the first form1. Hope this works Regards, Farooq
