Control browser back-forward button

I want to disable the browser back-forward button or make an alert when user click those button...
How can I do this in JavaScript or in asp.net mvc??

The quick answer is you can't. The Back button belongs to the browser, which belongs to the user, not the developer. However there are tricks to prevent user from using that but you cannot disable them.
