Copy a form

I belive your problem is that when you are "moving" the buttons you are doing so such as Button movedButton = oldButton; Since C# (and Java, ....) are reference based languages you are mearly creating a reference to those objects so when you ComponentColectionName.Controls.add(movedButton); you are actully saying "Take that button and attach it here" except that button is STILL the oldButton. You actully need to create a copy of the old Button object and then it is safe to say movedButton = CopyOfoldButton;

The thing is that I'm supposed to add the buttons during run-time. The buttons will be added to a panel in a form in one tabpage, and when I switch over to the other tabpage, a similar form should appear. So I don't understand how I'm suppose to have a base class that has those buttons since they're created during run-time.

Why are you doing two similar forms...? consider having a common base class that has those buttons. ;) (That's called 'visual inheritance')

select ur buttons and press ctrl+c then go to form 2, and ctrl+v that should copy them and not cut them
