EXE transfer using WCF Service in C# Windows Application

Hi All,

I have requirement to transfer EXE files from Server to client using WCF Service in windows Application. Please let us know is there any way to transfer the EXEs using WCF Service in C#.

myWebClient.DownloadFile((new Uri("C:\\DotNot_Sample.txt")), "C:\\test.txt");

and check you have access to create a file in c folder

System.IO.File.Copy("sourcePath", "\\machinename\share folder path"); it will work only in local network

Hi ,
by Webclient is ist possible to share the files in local network?
myWebClient.DownloadFile((new Uri("192...111\\DotNot_Sample.txt")), "192...112\\test.txt");

Here the Files will be available in Host mechine and need to send to the clients where WCF Service is running.

Thanks for the suggestion. C: is having the write permission & hence it fails.

WebClient myWebClient = new WebClient();
myWebClient.DownloadFile((new Uri("C:\\DotNot_Sample.txt")), "C:\test.txt");

above code is giving an expection : An exception occurred during a WebClient request.

Please help us to fix the above issue.

in wcf service write a get call to download file
In windows application write below code
WebClient myWebClient = new WebClient();
myWebClient.DownloadFile(exeurl, pathtosave);
