gridview with itemtemplate checkboxex in asp.net

Question

Hi please help me resolve this very urgent..

I have a gridview with courses to register in a semester with various fields like days(mon.tues..) and timing(1:30 to 2:30). A student has to select the courses by checking the checkbox and press the submit button. there are time clashes between few courses, I want to add the functionality where when one checkbox is checked then a method should be called where the timing of the other courses are compared with the selected one, and the same timing courses corresponding checkbox should be disabled.

you can use the OnRowBound event of the gridview to populate each of your checkboxlists (transforming the checkboxes in checkboxlists) and use the onselectedindexchanged event

I know that we can always check if the checkbox is checked or not.. i can do it when a button is pressed but not when a checkbox in the gridview is checked as there is no method named "onchecked" to call oncheckedchange doesnt work. this is the sample code i wrote: BorderColor="#010101" BorderStyle="Groove" BorderWidth="1px" CellPadding="4" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" onselectedindexchanged="GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged"> SortExpression="CName" /> Select ' AutoPostBack="true" OnCheckedChanged="Checkbox_checked"/> this method oncheckedchange is never called and there is no method named onchecked to add to the checkbox so how can i perform the iteration to disable the other relevant checkboxes

I dont's understand. you can always iterate through rows and verify the checked property of each checkbox :-?

I wanted to add more information like in using asp.net and itemtemplate to add checkboxes to gridview. therefore i couldnot add the property checked, can some one please provide the sample code... thanks a lot

I hope I got the Idea right: you basically want a table (using gridview) to make a weekely table. In the Header/Footer you'd have: the hours /days of week and on the left or on the right: the days of the week /the hours. All you have to do then is put in the datagrid a simple checkbox and on code behind you can verify every column per row if it is checked or not (using the Checked Property for the Checkbox). Using this, you can provide a form of validity. Let's say a student has to attend 4 hours of math, but he checks 6 hours in a week. You can validate this and send a notification that he wants too much math :)). It's an idea. I'll give it some more thought. And pelase tell me if I've understood corectly what you want. Cheers!!!
