Help with treads!!!

There is a forum dedicated to threads on this site. You may get more help there. Threads are used when you need to do more than one thing at a time. It's usually useful to do more than one thing at a time when a single task is not taking advantage of all the hardware. If a task is waiting on the network, a database lookup, user input, etc. These are all tasks that leave the CPU and harddisks idle, which could be doing other things. To make it do other things, you use a separate thread. With the definition out of the way, it's probably not a good idea to use threads if you're a newbie. Threads are nice to play with and can have enormous benefits in your applications, but they complicate an application terribly and make troubleshooting exponentially more difficult. Be sure you're comfortable with programming before you use threads in a serious application. When you're ready to use threads, a simple tutorial can be found anywhere and is probably as helpful as any of us in the forum. When you need further help, you should probably ask a more specific question or give more detail about your app. The Threads themselves can be made fairly simply, but the architecture of your application's threading scheme may require some advice.
