How i can get information about OS processes from browser?

i have created a dropbox application and installed it in my PC..

i just want to check the the application is running or not from web browser

but i don't want to loosen up any security restrictions .

The web browser is not allowed to retrieve such information by default, so I highly doubt what you want is possible without using some kind of API.
