Unfortunately, I don't know about vb.net much but I can suggest you the logic for this, as it hard to give complete code.

 

1. Take a local path on the client pc like (c:\program data) this can be accessed to all the user accounts.

 

2.When your application starts at the first time, create a license key file there (encypted, such that normal user can't read)

 

3. Put some value like bool type that you can read every time when your application starts to ensure whether it is licensed or not, if it was licenced then start your application or show the license window.

 

This will also restrict the user to use your appli ation and use it elsewhere.

What type of security you want to provide to your application.

 

If you want that your application should not be used else where, you can provide a License key.

 

If you want your data to be secured, then you can implement login and password.
