you have to use findcontrol method.

Normally, you need to define a TemplateField and under that ItemTemplates for a customized view, but not limited to. It's a full tutorial and can't fit in a forum reply. More over to find a control inside a GridViewCell, use FindControl() of DataGridRow.

GridView can highly customized. So 1 or 2 example can't cover it's scope and there's no shortcut. So try as many options possible and like that only you will be flexible wiht it. You will get a good start here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bgold/archive/2005/05/05/415106.aspx
