I want to add a timer control

I want to add a timer control which should be executed at a particular time say every 1 hr and the associated method such as insert ,delete or any other method defined in the form application should be called..

kindly help.

I am happy with the code u provided but it is not as i wanted, task scheduler i dont want to use
i want to combine the code of button control, code of selecting an item, code of getting the data once the item is selected and the code of saving the data in database all should be executed without any click event but with the timer control i.e every day say at 20.00 hrs this should be executed automatically...

I believe that you are using asp.net webform application. In global.asax file add code in Application_Start method and put timer code inside it.

public class Global : System.Web.HttpApplication
{
private static Timer timer;
protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
timer = new Timer(5 * 60 * 1000);
timer.AutoReset = true;
timer.Elapsed += new ElapsedEventHandler(timer_Elapsed);

{

}
