I am asp.net programing and providing training in ahmedabad and guide students. How good is silver light for students as a career option.

Hello Sir,

As far as my knowledge goes, Silverlight was the compeitor of adobe flash...

But, any reasons why silverlight development is stopped??

I also have few queries about Telerik controls, JavaScript, and JQuery.

My queries are-
1)I am beginner in JQuery. Please help me from where to start learning it.

2)In debug mode, JavaScript throws errors while using Telerik controls, but the number of errors is less with simple asp.net controls. Why?

3)If the silverlight development is stopped by Microsoft, does this mean that there will be no Silverlight-5 Ceritfication introduced?

4)What about Sharepoint and Sharepoint with Silverlight?

Please help me out. Please guide me.

Good suggestions Suthish. Let's not forget Mobile development Both Android and iOS are big and I don't think Google and Apple will change the way mobile apps are developed.

I will say, expand your horizon by started learning MVC, WCF, jQuery, HTML 5, Signal R and WPF. These will stay here for a long time.

Silverlight,Flash and all plugin-based apps are out-of-date,the new trend in the market is HTML5.It will complete in 2024 and become a standard in Web Technologies.So,if i were you,i'd learn everything i can about HTML5

Santosh,
Do not learn Silverlight. Microsoft has stopped Silverlight development. Just focus on ASP.NET, Web API, ASP.NET MVC and anything new from ASP.NET team.

Not anymore. HTML 5 will replace Silverlight. If you want to build Websites and WEb applications, JavaScript, HTML5 and ASP.NET are better choices. Silverlight is almost dead.
