Passing variables between forms

Not to mention, both VB.NET and C# share same Windows Forms library.

Global variables need to be declared as public in a module, but you can use public in a class (eg a form) to declare a public field. You need to create a new instance of the class to access it from outside, eg. ' In form1 Public VariableName as String 'In form 2 dim form1 as New form1 form1.VariableName="whatever" You could also declare the variable as shared (this makes the variable static), 'In form1 Public shared VariableName as string 'In form2 form1.VariableName="whatever"

I tried this technique first, thinking it was similar to VB6, but after I declared the variable at the form #1 level, it is not available to form #2,- it gives me an error indicating that it was not declared. Am I missing a setting at the Visual Studio level?

Declare the variable as Public in the declaration section of the form. eg. Public variableName as String
