payments ? real time

Hi

I am curious to know how ???  many mnc's pay there employees at the end of month . 

I guess there will be some automated mechanism established to do so ..

But i heard some companies deal via dated checks to banks . so the banker will deposit to the respective employee account at end of every month? is that right ..

Share your views & toughts. Ur input should help me to get the picture how to code for payments just in case for future happenings
