Send a unix command using socket

The Solaris machine should have a listening socket. You could use any .NET socket library to write the C# client. I like the Indy components ( http://www.nevrona.com/indy ). They were built in Delphi and then ported to .NET, so they're very mature and well designed. If you want to stay away from third party components, the .NET SDK comes with 2 means of using sockets.. a high level interface and a low-level interface. The high-level interface consists of the TcpListener for the server side and the TcpClient for the client side. This is very easy to use. Just create an IPEndPoint to define the server and open the connection with the client. Here's an example that sends a request to my local web server and displays the first line of the response. private void button11_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { //connect to socket server and get result. int port = 80; IPAddress address = IPAddress.Parse("127.0.0.1"); IPEndPoint ipep = new IPEndPoint(address, port); TcpClient client = new TcpClient(); client.Connect(ipep); NetworkStream ns = client.GetStream(); char[] c = "GET\n".ToCharArray(); byte[] b = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(c); //send the request ns.Write(b, 0, b.Length); //read the response, one byte at a time. Thanks ! And I have another question, My Solaris Server have a application component to run on 15651 port,I cann't sure that the AP component whether have a listenning socket. I try to connect the port of the AP component and send a request using socket , it is connect sucessful but didn't reply to my request. If i want to detect the AP component whether is alive,Should I how to do ? Thank you~
