store mixeddatatypes in an array

Kindly share a sample code if poosible to store mixed dataypes such as int, string, float, char all in one array.

Hi Dipa Mehta,

You can store different data types in an array using two methods.

Method 1:

Object array, because of all the type in .net is inherit from object type,
object[] array=new object[2];
array[0]=1;
array[1]="Ravishankar";
Method 2:
We can use ArrayList class like below
ArrayList arrlist=new ArrayList();
arrlist.Add(1);
arrlist.Add("Ravishankar");

Please try below code, it is given detailed solution of your problem
1.Make the array elements:
struct {
    enum { is_int, is_float, is_char } type;
    union {
        int ival;
        float fval;
        char cval;
    } val;
} my_array[10];
2. So if you want to store an int in the first element:
my_array[0].type = is_int;
my_array[0].val.ival = 3;
3.Switch Statement:
switch (my_array[n].type) {
case is_int:
    // Do stuff for integer, using my_array[n].ival
    break;
case is_float:
    // Do stuff for float, using my_array[n].fval
    break;
case is_char:
    // Do stuff for char, using my_array[n].cvar
    break;
default:
    // Report an error, this shouldn't happen
}
