How to trim the extra spaces in texxtarea field in angular 5 ?

Hi nithi mano,

If you are using ngModel with textarea then please try this.

But make sure Trimming functions remove whitespace from the beginning and/or end of a string.

If You want remove white space from whole the string then please try second function.

In Your Html :
<textarea (blur)="Address = trimming_fn(Address)" [(ngModel)]="Address">textarea>
In Your TypeScripe :
Address :string = '';

// this will remove only beginning and end of string whitespace.
trimming_fn(x) {
    return x ? x.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/gm, '') : '';
};

// this will remove whole whitespace from the string
trimming_fn(x) {
    return x ? x.replace(/\s/g,'') : '';
};

The trim() method removes whitespace from both sides of a string

Angular 5 is TypeScript based. So this Ref. of TypeScript telling about trim().

s = document.getElementById("textString").value;
s = s.replace(/(^\s*)|(\s*$)/gi,"");
s = s.replace(/[ ]{2,}/gi," ");
s = s.replace(/\n /,"\n");
document.getElementById("textString").value = s;
}

Please refer the above javascript example you can apply this same way in angular
