Validate Linkbutton in GridView

I am using link button in Grid view..if i click the link button alert box will display that contain textbox..after i give the value in textbox..that value will be stored in database(sqlserver2005)..Plz help me..

Assuming that you have to validate the textbox......

Instead of using a linkbutton and alert box try out obout flyout, in which you can add your textbox and a validator too.....
