Validate with windows user name

Given some user name& password, I want to validate it with windows user name & password. How do i do it? Can i do it in C#, how? Thanks for ur help.

can I also check whether the user name(input string) is a valid user account on windows? Thanks for help.

Hi, you could use the following code for the same. System.Security.Principal.WindowsPrincipal wp = new System.Security.Principal.WindowsPrincipal(System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent()); MessageBox.Show(wp.Identity.Name); Here the messagebox displays the domain name alongwith the user logged in(the UseriD). Using the ID, you could validate the user. HTH irfan
