VB.Net vs. C#

more or less they are the same but some things are easier to do in VB.Net such as events as you dont have to mess with delegates. i find that developing the libraries and classes in C# easiest while developing the GUI in VB.Net. As the languages can be used together this is good as unofficialy microsoft say that C# compiles faster with fewer lines of code needed to accomplish similar tasks.

functionality level you pretty much get the same thing (what jimi said) it really depends on what syntax u like. at the end of the day if ur using vb. and there is something in c# that u cant do in vb., just write a dll in c# and call it from vb (takes no more than 1 minute to do this, and i really mean one minute) i come from vb6 background, i got sick of vb letting me write bad code so i switched to c#, while c# also lets you write bad code, but not nearly as much as vb lets you. and i just love the syntax style. so it all comes down to what syntax u like, IMHO

With C#, you get: - unsafe blocks (if you like living dangerously) - a very consistent way to do everything (VB has annoyingly many ways to work with events and arrays) - xml commenting Overall, though - not a heck of a lot of difference - I think most people who switch to C# will do so out of an appreciation of the intangible style of C# - clean and neat. Also, no VB stigma - let's face it - a lot of us got tired of the stupid bigoted comments from non-VB programmers.
