Week number month & year from date value in textbox

Hi everyone

I am working on project and I need to get the week number, month and year from a datetime value in the past by simply selecting a date in the past and setting textbox1 to be that date say " 02/03/2013. I don't want to use "datetime.now".

Is it possible?

The only point of difficulty is the week number.

The following assumes that weeks begin on a Sunday and that 1st January falls in week 1.

private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
DateTime dt;
bool isValid = DateTime.TryParse(textBox1.Text, out dt);

if(!isValid)
{
MessageBox.Show("Not a valid date - please amend");
textBox1.Focus();
return;
}

int year = dt.Year;
int month = dt.Month;
int dayInYear = dt.DayOfYear;

DateTime startOfYear = new DateTime(year, 1, 1);
int dayOfWeek = (int)startOfYear.DayOfWeek;
int prevSunday = 1 - dayOfWeek;
int week = (dayInYear - prevSunday)/7 + 1;

MessageBox.Show(String.Format("Week {0}, Month {1}, Year {2}", week, month, year));
}
