what is Matcher in Angular 2/4/5 Routing

someone asked me what is matcher in angualr routing.i think it is custom url matching functionality in routing.but i have not got any concrete example about it yet.

Hi Pramod,
When a combination of path and pathMatch isn't expressive enough in URL then and then we use custom URL matcher.
For instance, the following matcher matches html files.
export function htmlFiles(url: UrlSegment[]) {
return url.length === 1 && url[0].path.endsWith('.html') ? ({consumed: url}) : null;
}

export const routes = [{ matcher: htmlFiles, component: AnyComponent }];
