There are multiple code types in .net

server side coding
front end coding
script coding
Database coding

But on the whole these all are the same so we can say every file that has some sensible code or written patterns should be called code file.

Note: For college viva you should open file who has extenttion as .aspx.cs

Well if you are creating any project in .NET then every file will be code file.

If you have created asp.net or windows form application then may be it is asing about code behind file not coding file, that file may be .VB or .CS or other depends on programming language.

You can open code behind file using F7 Key.

Example

If that is asp.net Project then click on *.aspx file and then press F7

If that is windows form project then open your *.Designer.cs file and press F7
