Job Description

A Fortune 50 company is seeking an Azure Platform Administrator to join its Enterprise Data Analytics Platform Engineering team. This role will involve hands-on administration, monitoring, and automation of cloud platforms, ensuring smooth operation, security, and scalability of critical data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure PaaS services using Terraform automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI. You will also be responsible for administering enterprise platforms like Tableau, Power BI, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, Tibco, Kafka, and IBM MQ. In addition, you will oversee networking configurations, security policies, monitoring tools, and DevOps practices to maintain a robust and reliable Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Azure Platform Administration. Oversee provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Azure services including Azure Databricks, AKS, VMs, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Key Vault, and Log Analytics.
  2. Infrastructure Automation. Deploy and manage Azure PaaS services using Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code (IaC) automation.
  3. Enterprise Platform Management. Administer and maintain BI and data platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, Tibco, Kafka, and IBM MQ.
  4. Networking & Security. Configure and manage Azure networking components including private and service endpoints, NSG rules, firewalls, VNets, Subnets, CIDR address blocks, DNS settings, and IAM/RBAC policies.
  5. DevOps & Monitoring. Leverage Azure DevOps for CI/CD processes and integrate monitoring tools for performance tracking, logging, and incident resolution.
  6. Incident Management & Troubleshooting. Establish and follow a Rhythm of Business (ROB) to handle break/fix issues efficiently, escalating to the appropriate teams when necessary.
  7. Service Improvement & Reliability Engineering. Drive service improvement plans focusing on operational excellence, cost-efficiency, and platform automation.
  8. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication. Work within a matrix organization, ensuring seamless coordination with multiple stakeholders across different teams and time zones.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Azure PaaS services deployment with specialization in Terraform automation.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Databricks, AKS, VMs, ADF, Azure Storage, Key Vault, and Log Analytics.
  • 2+ years of experience administering Tableau, Power BI, Tibco (preferred), Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, Informatica Data Integration Hub, IBM MQ, or Kafka.
  • 1+ year of experience with Azure networking, including private and service endpoints, NSG rules, routing, firewalls, VNets, Subnets, IAM policies, and security configurations.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and release management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills with hands-on experience in infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively in remote and distributed teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery model with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
