Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud IAM Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing core functionalities of Google's Identity platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and security to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on integrating Google identity solutions with external providers and building scalable systems that ensure security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement core functionalities of Google's Identity platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to define technical requirements based on user needs.
  • Integrate Google's identity solutions with external identity providers (IdPs) and relying parties (RPs) using SAML, OIDC, and OAuth standards.
  • Build robust and scalable systems capable of handling high volumes of authentication requests while maintaining security standards.
  • Implement strong security measures to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, identify potential issues, and propose improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in identity management protocols and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of technical specifications and design decisions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, architecture, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in designing and building secure and scalable distributed systems.
  • Expertise in identity management protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth, including practical implementation experience.
  • Experience with Google Identity and familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, secure coding practices, and threat modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
