The ETIPS team is leading the modernization efforts at UnitedHealth Group, focusing on developing a robust cloud strategy to support our operational needs. This initiative involves the creation of new Kubernetes services and seamless integration with existing enterprise tools, enabling us to deliver high-quality technology services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Kubernetes Development. Lead the development of new Kubernetes services from the ground up, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- On-Call SRE Support. Participate in on-call support for our Production Kubernetes environment, providing essential troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Integration Development. Develop integrations of the Kubernetes platform with existing enterprise tools via REST APIs, enhancing interoperability and efficiency.
- Vendor Collaboration. Work closely with vendors on high-priority issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Technical Infrastructure Management. Define, build, and support the technical infrastructure environment for the Kubernetes platform, ensuring optimal performance.
- Standards and Documentation. Define and document standards and guidelines for Kubernetes operations, fostering consistency and best practices.
- Automation. Develop and automate repeatable tasks to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- User Consultation. Consult with development teams to determine requirements and recommend tailored solutions that meet their needs.
- Collaborative Participation. Engage in product evaluations, design review sessions, and data requirement meetings, contributing valuable insights to application development products.
- Open Source Contributions. Contribute to open-source projects that drive continuous improvements in our technology stack and practices.
Skills and Qualifications
Must Have
- 3+ years of Kubernetes Administration experience, demonstrating expertise in managing and orchestrating containerized applications.
- 2+ years of experience in cloud integration with at least one of the following platforms, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- 3+ years of software development experience in languages such as Python or Golang, showcasing strong programming skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the healthcare sector is a plus, providing valuable context for our industry-specific challenges and solutions.
