As a DevOps Engineer at Emerson, you’ll be at the forefront of deploying, maintaining, and optimizing machine learning models in real-world environments. Working closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and cross-functional development teams, you'll ensure that our models are seamlessly integrated into production and operate at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Deployment & Integration. Deploy and manage machine learning models into scalable production systems with high availability and performance.
- CI/CD for ML Models. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines tailored for ML workflows using tools like Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, and DevOps best practices.
- Infrastructure Development. Design and implement infrastructure for model deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Monitoring & Maintenance. Continuously monitor model performance and system health using logging and alerting tools. Troubleshoot and maintain deployed models to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Security & Compliance. Ensure deployments follow enterprise-level security standards, compliance regulations, and data privacy protocols.
- Documentation & Reporting. Maintain clear documentation on system configurations, model versions, and performance metrics. Communicate effectively with stakeholders through regular reports and updates.
- Agile Collaboration. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Reviews within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
- Process Improvement. Identify opportunities for automating and improving deployment workflows and infrastructure utilization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, ML Ops, or a similar role
- Proven track record in deploying and managing ML models in production environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
- Familiarity with cloud services, especially Azure and AWS, and their respective ML ecosystems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and tools like Azure DevOps
- Proficient in using monitoring and logging tools to track model/system health
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working in an engineering domain
- Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
- Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data engineering principles
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and team collaboration platforms
- Experience in machine learning model lifecycle management, versioning, and retraining strategies
