As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining high-quality software products using a diverse range of technologies and programming languages.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate within a dynamic environment to design, code, and test innovative AI solutions, demonstrating them to clients.
- Integrate with cross-functional teams to develop AI solutions for incorporation into our Z Software portfolio.
- Utilize IBM's Design Thinking methodology to ensure solutions are high-performing, secure, and stable.
Skills You Will Develop
- Gain expertise in AI technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLM).
- Address challenges in training, testing, benchmarking, and validating AI-generated content and code.
- Understand the business applications of AI and its value proposition through the Watsonx platform.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps roles, with proficiency in shell scripting and configuration management systems (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters or RedHat Openshift Platform for at least 3 years.
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, IBMCloud, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong Linux/UNIX development skills and IT networking proficiency.
- Solid experience with GitOps architecture and tools, automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform), and programming languages such as Bash, Tekton, Python, Go, Java, Node.js, C, Swagger, JSON, CTD, and Grafana.
- Experience in software development and automation scripting, with a focus on security, compliance, and software supply chain validation.
- Proficiency in Agile processes and tools like JIRA.
- Excellent communication, logical thinking, and analytical skills.
Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise
- Understanding of test automation frameworks and integration with multiple tools.
- Experience with Prometheus metrics and setting up observability systems.
- Exposure to Open Source projects and contributions.
- Familiarity with z/OS and mainframe technologies, including COBOL, Assembler programming, JCL, REXX, and IBM IMS.
- Ability to define test strategies incorporating both AI and non-AI solutions.
