As a Quality Engineer at American Express, you will.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and execution artifacts in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Lead a team of test managers to ensure consistency in approach, optimize test coverage, and execute efficiently across initiatives.
- Collaborate with application architects and environment operations to design robust test infrastructure.
- Work closely with software, infrastructure, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality code delivery.
- Partner with Product Owners and Release Train Engineers to review test scenarios, validate results, and maintain documentation.
- Design and implement quality metrics, analyze patterns, and drive innovation and improvement initiatives based on data insights.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams to enhance automation and testing practices in a Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) environment.
- Identify and implement innovative testing technologies and techniques to improve overall testing capabilities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of proven experience in quality and test engineering within the Financial industry, specifically in the Credit Card Domain.
- Expertise in creating test data, writing test cases, and executing functional, automated, and performance tests, with a strong focus on leading defect resolution.
- Solid background in test-driven development, unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
- Hands-on experience with tools like HP Quality Center, Selenium, UFT (QTP), XL Release, Puppet, Chef, IBM Rational, etc.
- Familiarity with Quality scanning tools, ability to establish and monitor quality metrics, and proficiency in dashboarding and data interpretation.
- Certification in one or more of the following: QAI, ASQ, IIST, ISEB, ISTQB, or similar, is a plus.
- Technical proficiency in Mainframe, distributed systems, programming languages (Python, Java), RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in automation testing and debugging using tools such as Selenium, POSTMAN, SOAP UI, REST, etc.
- Knowledge of continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), and continuous testing (CT) practices, including tools like Jenkins, ARA, Rally, JIRA, GIT, SVN, and service virtualization.
- Strong leadership skills, professional presence, and exceptional communication abilities to influence stakeholders effectively.
