As a Software Developer within the Watson Code Assistant for z/OS Development team, you will be integral to building a robust CI/CD infrastructure supporting generative AI technology for IBM Z automation. Your responsibilities include.
- Full Development Lifecycle. Engage in all phases of software development, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, debugging, and integration.
- Technological Expertise. Utilize cutting-edge tools and techniques to deliver state-of-the-art software solutions. This includes proficiency in:
- Object-Oriented programming principles
- Java Application Development for functional and regression testing
- CI/CD (DevOps) practices to streamline development processes
- Web and UI development to enhance user interfaces
- Automation development, including scripting for efficiency
- C programming language for system-level development
- Git for version control management
- Linux or UNIX environments for development and deployment
- Preferred Skills. Familiarity with additional languages and technologies such as PL/I, IBM z/OS (ISPF/TSO), Assembler programming, Job Control Language (JCL), Restructured Extended Executor language (REXX), Tekton, and IBM IMS is advantageous.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience. 3+ years in software development roles, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, Java, CI/CD practices, and web/UI development.
- Agility. Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and a willingness to adapt to new challenges and technologies.
