Role Description
- Building Cutting-Edge Models. Develop and deploy state-of-the-art ML/DL models, causal systems, and RL models to enhance pricing, discounting, and recommendation systems for our train, bus, and cab line of businesses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration. Engage closely with product and revenue management teams throughout project lifecycles, from data analysis and model selection to setting up A/B experiments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Collaborate effectively with fellow data scientists and data/software engineers to drive innovation and solve complex business challenges.
- Infrastructure Ownership. Design and manage robust model infrastructure pipelines and APIs with a 99% SLA, ensuring high throughput and low latencies.
- Iterative Improvement. Adopt an iterative approach, starting with baseline models, conducting A/B experiments, and continuously refining models to achieve state-of-the-art performance.
Desired Profile
- Technical Proficiency. Strong Python programming skills are a must, with proficiency in Pyspark considered advantageous. Deep expertise in ML/DL, solid mathematical and statistical foundations, and experience deploying models end-to-end.
- Specialized Knowledge. Experience with deep contextual bandits, reinforcement learning, or causal ML modeling is highly desired. Knowledge of blending ML/DL with econometric methods for pricing and discounting is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills. Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a knack for first principles thinking and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.
- Industry Experience. Prior experience in e-commerce B2C environments is preferred, particularly in developing pricing, discounting, or ranking systems.
Qualifications
- Education. BE/BTech from Tier 1 colleges (IIT/ISI/NIT/BITS/BIT/IIIT/REC) is required. An MS or Ph.D. in AI/ML, econometrics, applied statistics, computer science, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience. 6-8 years of comprehensive experience in data science, AI, and ML roles, with a demonstrated track record of delivering impactful solutions.
