We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team for a major client in the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Java/J2EE, an agile mindset, and the technical leadership to drive distributed teams in developing top-tier applications. This role involves working within EST hours, with early morning coordination with offshore teams to ensure seamless project continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute development initiatives using Core Java/J2EE technologies.
- Collaborate within an agile, distributed development model, facilitating continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and web services using Java J2EE, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Apply advanced object-oriented design principles and techniques.
- Implement agile practices like SCRUM and DevOps Toolchain for effective CI/CD.
- Efficiently analyze production issues for quick resolution and system stability.
- Act as a team lead to drive productivity and maintain clear stakeholder communication and reporting.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience. 8+ years in Java/J2EE and distributed agile environments.
- Technical Leadership. Demonstrated experience as a Team Lead or Tech Manager, with strong stakeholder management across multiple geographies and time zones.
Primary Skills
- Java/J2EE, JSP, Struts, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, REST API/Microservices
- Agile Methodologies (e.g., SCRUM)
- DevOps tools and methodologies
Secondary Skills
- Blaze Rules Engine, ReactJS, AWS Cloud, Design Patterns
- Experience with TIBCO BW 5/6 is a plus.
