We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Design/Place and Route (PD/PnR) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IP/Block level PnR activities, from Netlist to GDS-II, and possess a deep understanding of all aspects of PnR processes. This role requires hands-on experience with advanced technology nodes, particularly with TSMC 5nm and below, and proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools and scripting.
Key Responsibilities
- PnR Activities. Execute IP/Block level Place and Route (PnR) activities, progressing from Netlist to GDS-II.
- Floor-Planning. Develop and optimize floor plans to ensure efficient chip layout and performance.
- Placement and CTS. Oversee cell placement and Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS) to meet design specifications.
- Routing. Perform signal and power routing to achieve optimal design performance.
- Timing Closure (STA). Conduct Static Timing Analysis (STA) and achieve timing closure.
- Signoff Checks. Perform and ensure the accuracy of signoff checks including Formal Equivalence Verification (FEV), Voltage-aware Design Closure and Optimization (VCLP), Electro-Migration and IR-Drop (EMIR), and Physical Verification (PV).
- EDA Tools. Utilize industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
- Advanced Node Technologies. Work on Deep Sub-Micron (DSM) technologies, with a preference for experience in TSMC 5nm and below.
- Scripting. Develop and use scripts to automate design tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience. Minimum of 8+ years in physical design and PnR.
Technical Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of PnR activities (Floor-planning, Placement, CTS, Routing, Timing closure (STA), and signoff checks).
- Proficiency in EDA tools such as Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
- Hands-on experience with DSM technologies, especially TSMC 5nm and below.
- Scripting. Proficient in scripting languages to automate design processes and enhance productivity.
- Analytical Skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address design challenges.
