Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Design/Place and Route (PD/PnR) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IP/Block level PnR activities, from Netlist to GDS-II, and possess a deep understanding of all aspects of PnR processes. This role requires hands-on experience with advanced technology nodes, particularly with TSMC 5nm and below, and proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools and scripting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. PnR Activities. Execute IP/Block level Place and Route (PnR) activities, progressing from Netlist to GDS-II.
  2. Floor-Planning. Develop and optimize floor plans to ensure efficient chip layout and performance.
  3. Placement and CTS. Oversee cell placement and Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS) to meet design specifications.
  4. Routing. Perform signal and power routing to achieve optimal design performance.
  5. Timing Closure (STA). Conduct Static Timing Analysis (STA) and achieve timing closure.
  6. Signoff Checks. Perform and ensure the accuracy of signoff checks including Formal Equivalence Verification (FEV), Voltage-aware Design Closure and Optimization (VCLP), Electro-Migration and IR-Drop (EMIR), and Physical Verification (PV).
  7. EDA Tools. Utilize industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
  8. Advanced Node Technologies. Work on Deep Sub-Micron (DSM) technologies, with a preference for experience in TSMC 5nm and below.
  9. Scripting. Develop and use scripts to automate design tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience. Minimum of 8+ years in physical design and PnR.

Technical Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of PnR activities (Floor-planning, Placement, CTS, Routing, Timing closure (STA), and signoff checks).
  • Proficiency in EDA tools such as Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Hands-on experience with DSM technologies, especially TSMC 5nm and below.
  • Scripting. Proficient in scripting languages to automate design processes and enhance productivity.
  • Analytical Skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address design challenges.
  • Team Collaboration. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
