Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Principal Consultant with 8 to 15 years of expertise in Oracle database technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database administration, migration, cloud integration, and performance tuning. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle Database versions 12c, 18c, and 19c, as well as experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Exadata, and automation.

The selected candidate will play a key role in architecting and implementing robust database solutions for large enterprises. This position involves working with Oracle's latest database technologies, ensuring high availability, data security, and optimal performance. As an Oracle Database Principal Consultant, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide strategic recommendations, and drive technical excellence in database management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Database Design & Implementation. Architect, design, and implement enterprise database solutions using Oracle Database Technology to support large-scale business applications.
  2. Database Administration. Manage, configure, and optimize Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  3. Capacity Planning. Plan and implement scalable database architectures, ensuring efficient storage management and optimal resource utilization.
  4. Backup & Recovery. Develop and implement RMAN backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical business data.
  5. High Availability Solutions. Deploy and maintain Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) for database clustering and fault tolerance.
  6. Replication & Data Sync. Implement Oracle GoldenGate replication to enable real-time data synchronization across multiple systems.
  7. Cloud Database Management. Configure, deploy, and manage Oracle databases on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including DB Systems and Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW).
  8. Database Migration. Perform database migrations from on-premises environments to OCI while ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  9. Exadata Management. Manage Oracle Exadata and ExaCC environments, optimizing database workloads for enhanced performance.
  10. Automation & Scripting. Utilize Unix shell scripting, virtualization, and automation tools to streamline database administration tasks and reduce manual effort.
  11. Security & Compliance. Implement industry best practices for database security, access control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  12. Performance Optimization. Analyze and fine-tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations.
  13. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing. Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to provide database solutions tailored to business needs.
  14. Documentation & Reporting. Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Experience. 8 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  2. Education. Any degree is acceptable, but BE/B.Tech/MCA/BCA is preferred.
  3. Expertise in Oracle Database Versions. Strong knowledge and practical experience with Oracle 12c, 18c, and 19c database architecture.
  4. Backup & Recovery. Proficiency in RMAN backup and recovery solutions.
  5. High Availability & Replication. Experience in Oracle RAC implementation and GoldenGate replication.
  6. Oracle Cloud Knowledge. Hands-on experience with Oracle Database on OCI, Exadata, ExaCC, and database migrations to OCI.
  7. Cloud Infrastructure. Understanding of Oracle Cloud IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).
  8. Automation & Scripting. Experience in Unix shell scripting, virtualization, and automation for database administration tasks.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

  1. Oracle Cloud Certification. OCI Foundation, Architect, or Professional certifications are highly desirable.
  2. Willingness to Travel. Candidates should be open to domestic and international travel as required by business needs.
