NXP Semiconductors is seeking a seasoned and strategic veteran technical leader to join our team as a Virtualization Architect. This role requires extensive experience in virtualization, particularly in AWS cloud and virtualized environments such as VMware and container platforms on bare metal.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive virtualization strategy aligned with R&D IT goals and business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and explore emerging/disruptive technologies and services to enhance operational efficiencies and address organizational challenges using virtualization.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of virtualization specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. Guide team members in designing, implementing, and optimizing virtualization solutions across cloud and on-premise data centers.
- Collaborate with IT leaders, stakeholders, and business units to integrate virtualization strategies with broader technology and business initiatives. Act as a key liaison between virtualization teams and other departments, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of virtualized environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to best practices. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource utilization and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead efforts to establish and maintain robust security measures in virtualized environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and implement processes for regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Strive towards automation maturity models to enhance automation capabilities aligned with business outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience working as a DevOps architect with deep understanding of AWS cloud services, container platforms (e.g., OpenShift), and other virtualization technologies.
- Extensive experience as an AWS cloud DevOps architect with strong automation skills, preferably using Ansible, Python, PowerCLI, AWS CloudFormation, and CDK.
- Proven experience as a DevOps architect championing IT infra as code (IaC), configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems and NFS storage in high-performance compute environments.
- Experience with data security technologies such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS security KMS, and PKI infrastructure.
- AWS certified DevOps engineer.
- Ability to review, verify, and validate software code developed in projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive optimization. Knowledge of Citrix app is an added advantage.
