Are you a seasoned technical leader with a passion for virtualization and cloud technologies? NXP Semiconductors is looking for a veteran technical leader to spearhead our virtualization strategy. With your extensive experience in AWS cloud, VMware, and container platforms on bare metal, you will play a crucial role in driving our R&D IT goals and business objectives forward.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Development. Develop and execute a comprehensive virtualization strategy aligned with R&D IT goals and business objectives.
- Technology Exploration. Identify, evaluate, and explore emerging/disruptive technologies and services to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Team Leadership. Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of virtualization specialists, guiding them in the design, implementation, and optimization of virtualization solutions both in the cloud and on-premise data centers.
- Collaboration. Work closely with IT leaders, stakeholders, and business units to integrate virtualization strategies with broader technology and business initiatives. Act as a key liaison to foster effective communication and alignment.
- Operational Oversight. Oversee the day-to-day operations of virtualized environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to best practices. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource utilization.
- Security Management. Lead efforts to establish and maintain robust security measures in virtualized environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and implement processes for regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Automation. Strive towards automation maturity models to improve automation capabilities and align them with business outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Experience. Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a deep understanding of AWS cloud services, technologies, container platforms (like OpenShift), and other virtualization platforms.
- Technical Expertise. Proven experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and virtual machines.
- DevOps Skills. Extensive experience as an AWS cloud DevOps architect with strong automation skills, preferably using Ansible, Python (mandatory skill), PowerCLI, AWS CloudFormation, and CDK.
- Leadership. Proven experience as a senior DevOps architect who has championed IT infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, and CICD pipelines.
- Linux and Storage. Extensive experience working with the Linux operating system and NFS storage in a high-performance computing environment.
- Data Security. Experience with data security solutions such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS security KMS, and PKI infrastructure.
- Certifications. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- Technical Validation. Ability to review, verify, and validate software code developed in projects.
- Skills. Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of the Citrix app are an added advantage.
