Job Description

As a Senior Product Designer at R1 RCM, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology landscape, focusing on our suite of SaaS healthcare applications and services. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our solutions are intuitive and of the highest quality. You will be engaged in all stages of the product design journey, from initial discovery to necessary adjustments before launch. This role requires you to leverage your comprehensive design, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills while actively contributing to high-level strategic decisions alongside product, engineering, and executive partners.

As a valued member of our collaborative, motivated, and innovative team, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of crafting inventive and human-centric interface designs that not only meet but exceed customer expectations while driving our business objectives forward.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Craft Human-Centric Solutions. Develop enterprise workflows and interface solutions with a human-centric approach.
  2. Design Assets Development. Create a wide range of design assets, including wireframes, user journeys, user flows, maps, service blueprints, personas, prototypes, and both high and low-fidelity designs, usability tests, and interview guides.
  3. Contribute to Design Standards. Identify and drive new UI components and design patterns to enhance R1's design standards.
  4. Self-Management. Operate efficiently within an Agile team environment, managing your own work.
  5. Attention to Detail. Produce multiple iterations of your work to achieve the best solutions.
  6. Collaboration. Work closely with Operations, Product Managers, Engineers, and Product Design team members to create efficient workflows and intuitive interface solutions, and facilitate design research.
  7. Active Participation. Engage in meeting discussions, articulate compelling viewpoints, and foster a collaborative environment that values diverse input.
  8. Mentorship. Mentor peers in both technical and professional domains, helping them advance their careers.
  9. Leadership. Lead workshops and promote design thinking in cross-functional, collaborative workgroups.
  10. Advocacy. Advocate for a persuasive design perspective in company-wide discussions.
  11. Growth Mindset. Exhibit curiosity and a willingness to boldly question established norms.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • 6 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design or a related field.
  • Portfolio of work examples and detailed case studies that demonstrate the span of the design process.
  • Experience with delivering design work for Product Development in an Agile environment.
  • Energetic self-starter with a commitment to excellence and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Growth mindset and active listening skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor and inspire team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
  • Problem-solving skills for cross-functional collaboration and process optimization.

Good-To-Have Skills

  • Background in healthcare or insurance enterprise product design.
  • Advanced education degree.
