As a Python Cloud Development Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and testing Power Private Cloud software. You'll be instrumental in turning architectural requirements into high-level and low-level designs, contributing actively to open source communities, and leveraging your expertise in cloud domains, including OpenStack, virtualization, Linux OS internals, networking, storage, security, and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Your responsibilities will include collaborating with open-source communities, participating in product development/testing of PowerVC Platform on Power, and potentially engaging in front-end and back-end development.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience in the IT industry
- Proficiency in Python programming and scripting
- Experience with solutions development in Unix or Linux environments
- Knowledge of OpenStack concepts and cloud computing platforms
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies
- Ability to work independently and in agile teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to open source communities
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack-based clouds
- Understanding of virtualization concepts
- Automation experience using Ansible
- Familiarity with GCP, Azure, or other cloud platforms
