We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Python + Azure Data Engineer for a dynamic role that combines hands-on development and solution design within the cloud computing sphere, specifically focusing on Microsoft Azure. This contract position is for a duration of 6 months with potential extensions and offers a hybrid working model, with locations in India and Krakow, Poland.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient Python codebases, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Implement and manage big data solutions leveraging Azure cloud services, with a strong emphasis on PySpark, Databricks, and Kafka.
- Design and architect high-quality solutions, capable of addressing complex data engineering challenges.
- Independently manage project components, delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Optimize and manage SQL queries and databases, including PostgreSQL and Oracle, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science and machine learning capabilities into broader projects, enhancing analytical outcomes.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Python development, demonstrating exceptional programming skills.
- At least 3 years of experience working with cloud-based platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, with a deep understanding of big data technologies such as PySpark, Databricks, and Kafka.
- Proven ability in designing solutions and working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Experience in data science or machine learning projects will be considered an asset.
- Background in investment banking and risk management will be highly regarded.
- Programming skills in Java will be an added advantage.
